A little while ago I received an email from the fostering agency about a competition for children/teenagers in care and young adults that were care leavers - the competition was for each person (if they so wanted) to write a very short story of their own and submit it. The best would be published on the website.
I chose to submit my story named "The Angel Girl" - which is also on this blog (so go check it out!) - and mine was one of those that was published!
I'm a bit happy about this if you can't tell already.
There’s some feedback from the judges here:
“We really liked the characters in your story and how Eliza held her head high and stayed positive even when those around her weren't.” You Can Foster Judging Panel
“This was my runner-up choice... a well planned and beautifully written story that blended classic drama with fantasy and gritty reality to create something unique and lovely. Inspiring and hopeful, the story left me feeling uplifted and very impressed!”

Make sure you also go and checkout the "youcanfoster.org" website - here you'll be able to view all the other stories and learn more about fostering from the mouths of children who have been through it all.
